A day after the Cadet World Championships ended, our Team TAYA Athlete Chelsea Gomez and Coach Ms Abby along with the rest of the Australian Cadets Team have reset and competed at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Open last 1 September 2023 with Australia placing 2nd overall ranking with 16 medals, a fantastic achievement to finish the trip to Sarajevo.

Chelsea beat Croatia but lost to Serbia in a close semifinals match and settled for bronze in the - 164 cm division. The experience and valuable lessons gained at her second Cadet World Championships and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Open will assist Chelsea to improve her game and further hone her skills in the future as she now sets her sight towards 2024 Junior World Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea where she won Gold at the Korea Open in 2022.

Ms Abby was one of the 4 Coaches led by Olympic Gold Medallist and now Australia's Cadet National Coach Dongmin Cha that guided, supported, trained and coached the AUS Cadet Team to a historic outcome for Australia at the World Championships and Bosnia and Herzegovina Open. This is Ms Abby's second time at the Cadet World Championships to coach the Australian Team. Ms Abby was also one of 4 Australian National Team Coaches at the 2022 Junior World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria and the Australian Performance Pathway Program (PPP) Team that competed at the Dutch Open and Belgium Open in March 2023.

We are so proud of Chelsea and Coach Ms Abby for all the hard work, dedication and passion in chasing their dreams and Taekwondo journeys as a developing elite athlete and AUS and NSW PPP coach, respectively.

Well done Chelsea and Ms Abby!!!
