TAWEESILP TRAINING CAMP 16-20 January 2024

21 of our Team TAYA Red and Black Belt athletes in cadets, junior and senior divisions have attended the recent Taweesilp Training Camp held at Prestons NSW hosted by Martial Arts Spirit Club where over 110 athletes across Australia participated in the gruelling day and night 2 hour sessions run over 5 days from 16-20 January 2024.  The training camp was facilitated by world renowned Thailand Coach Khamnuan (Khem) Taweesilp. It was great for 5 of our Black Belts to be reunited with him and his 3 athletes after the two-week training camp at Taweesilp Taekwondo Club in Thailand last 31 January to 15 February 2023 accompanied by Coach Ms Abby Sangalang.

Our athletes have adapted, learned and expanded their technical skills, continuous development and preparations which would set them up well for the several events scheduled in 2024 particularly the upcoming Canada Open and US Open in February and the Australian Junior World Championship Team Selections in June. They have shown tenacity and have risen to the physical and mental challenges at the camp. Many of them are developing athletes who experienced this level of high performance training and are now aware of what needs to be done to be on top of their game. We are excited to see when they apply all of the techniques they learned at the training camp. Our athletes who attended the training camp were:

Seniors - Sofia Querubin, Aaditya Kadam

Juniors - Atharva Pansare, Joshua Lo, Chelsea Gomez, Diego Querubin, Eva De Guzman, Ayva Soteriou, Liana Thunyin

Cadets – Jade Macgowan, Mia Er, Vasili Soteriou, Ethan De Guzman, Aarav Kadam, Ayaan Shetty, Lachlan Macgowan, Zara Lo, Heleni Moa, Kiera Malicdem, Kiaan Para, Aarav Menezes
